Frequently
Asked Questions |
|
1.
My system isn't a weather station, can I still use
this facility? |
|
Although
this site is called 'Weather-Systems' your system
need not be a weather station. any remotely located
data logging equipment and their attached sensors
can be configured for use with this system. |
| |
| 2.
I don't have any equipment but I need to get some
and would like it to be compatible with this system,
how can you help? |
|
We
can either refer you to a suitable supplier, or
provide you with a complete system. Either way,
it would be better if you call us so we can discuss
your exact requirements. |

| 3.
I am having trouble setting up my units, how can you
help? |
|
Give
us a call or drop us an email and we'll do it for
you. The web interface is pretty robust, but occasionally
it can get confused. It is likely that any issue
is due to the parameters that you have submitted
rather than the web site failing, so if you call
us we can put you back on course. |

| 4.
I have compatible equipment but it doesn't have a
modem. What do I need to get started, and how much
will it cost? |
|
You
will need either our IP package or our GSM package.
the low cost option is for GSM, and varies depending
on your system from £300 to £600 Excl
VAT, plus installation if required. |

5.
My system is stand-alone and powered by solar energy,
how will the GSM impact on my power consumption
and will I need to upgrade? |
|
It
really depends on what you want the Weather Systems
facility to do for you. If we know what capability
your system has we can restrict the system to ensure
that the power integrity is maintained. If you want
a high access capability we can upgrade the solar
powered system for you, or provide you with the
components for you to do it yourself. |
