General
Help |

| To
get you started, if you have compatible equipment
and want a dedicated service for data acquisition
from your field equipment, you can get set up TODAY. |
| Getting
Started |
| If
you think your equipment supplier is a distributor
for this equipment, you should contact them first.
If you know that they aren't, then go through to the
Subscribe section of the site and get yourself registered. |
| Setting
up your Subscription |
| Fill
out the subscription form as completely as possible,
ensuring that a valid email address is added. Setting
up your account costs nothing, and is done as soon
as you submit your details. If you just require a
basic offload service, you will shortly be up and
running. If you require SMS, Alerts, Web Display or
advanced modules, there will be a short set-up time
of a few days before your account comes active. Additionally,
for the more advanced features we will require credit
references for your account to be verified. |
| Adding
Units |
| Your
account will allow you to set up a number of units,
(up to 10), so if you have more than this, you will
need to set up a seperate account or you will have
to contact us so we can extend your configuration. |
| Answer
the questions about your units as fully as possible,
however if you are unsure of anything, call us and
we'll help you out. |
| Adding
email lists |
| You
can add upto 4 email lists for each unit you add to
your account. emails cost nothing, but are still restricted
to 100 users unless you request more. Generally, we
have found that clients with more than 20 users prefer
to use the web interface for the global display of
their data. Bear in mind that each email you submit
will be checked, and that if you are abusing the system
by forcing SPAM we will suspend your account and notify
your ISP. |
| Adding
Mobile Users |
| If
you are subscribing to the SMS service, and are adding
mobile number lists, you must ensure that you have
the mobile users permission to add them to the system.
Each mobile will be sent a note asking them if they
wish to be added to your list. If they do not reply,
or reply indicating that they don't want access, their
number will be immediately removed from the list.

be aware that each SMS sent incurs a cost to the client,
and is immediately added to their online invoice.

| Adding
Web Functionality |
| You
are able to add web components to each unit that you
add, so if you want basic text data display with your
unit, or a more user friendly graphical display using
our pre configured web scripts, these will be added
after Weather Systems has determined the correct configuration
of your system. Just check the relevant boxes on the
subscription form. |
| Adding
Modules |
| If
you want to add advanced modules to your subscription
for specific units, you will need to call us to discuss
your requirements fully. There are however 2 basic
components that can be added during system set-up.
If you forget to add them, you can always add them
later. |
| Costs |
| Each
aspect of the system, because it is modular, has its
own set-up fee and, depending on which options you
choose, has a monthly fee too. Monthly fees are billed
in advance, by invoice, on strict 7 day terms. If
we do not receive your prompt payment for the services
that you are subscribed to we will immendiately suspend
your account. You will be prompted to read and accept
our terms and conditions of use of the system before
you can add any units to your account. We advise that
you do this. |
| The
level of the one-off set-up fee for each service is
in line with its functionality, the higher level of
capability that you require, the higher the set-up
fee. The first unit is always the most expensive to
set up, and additional units are added at nominal
set-up costs. |
| Problems |
| If
you have any problems with setting up your account,
you should call us and we can help you through it,
or do it for you. If you are unsure which package
best suits you, we can advise you. |
| Incompatible
Equipment |
| If
you have some basic equipment but don't have adequate
communications facilities to enable your equipment
on the system you can call us as we have low cost
solutions for getting your equipment onto the system.
These range from basic GSM systems to advanced IP
packages but it depends on your application as to
which will best suit your requirements. |
| International
Communications |
| Currently
we support equipment located in the EU and Asia, and
we are extending our capability to include the US
shortly. Whatever your requirements we can advise
you on appropriate GSM service provders worldwide,
and we can generally accommodate most countries. |
| GSM |
| While
we recommend GSM as a communications protocol for
this system, we do not, under any circumstances guarantee
the availability of GSM data connection, or the ability
to communicate using this protocol. we are in the
hands of the service providers on this, however we
do have very good relations with the major suppliers
and are expert at adapting to GSM service changes. |
